German Low Boot Reproductions are High quality newly made replicas of the Enlisted Man's World War Two low boots (Schnurschuhe).
During the prewar era, German soldiers were issued a pair of low boots or Schnurschuhe along with a pair of jackboots. These lowboots were used primarily for basic training. As the war progressed the low boots began to see action at the front. The low boots were designed to be worn with the gamaschen (gaiters).
The m37 lowboots were made with different variations, including the sets of eyelets and speed lace hooks. These low boots are later war versions using eyelets. The sole consists of the heel, mid-sole and the front sole. The heel is made from a series of stacked leather pieces with a heel iron. The mid-sole is both stitched and correctly nailed with wooden pegs. The front sole is affixed with wooden pegs and steel hobnails and has a toe plate.
The M37 low boots came from the factory untanned, and the soldiers were ordered to blacken the boots.
